Thanksgiving is tomorrow! (as if you didn’t already know!) That means that a lot of you may be traveling, so I’m going to give you workouts that you can do while you are away. They don’t require equipment, but they do require a bit of commitment.
- Crank up some tunes, grab your kids and dance. It doesn’t matter what kind of dancing you do, just move and get your heart pumping!
Dancing not only is a great calorie burner, it also works muscles that you don’t typically hit and it’s so fun! Especially with your kids because you’ll be laughing and spinning and hopping and just enjoying yourself. Dancing is also a tremendous stress reliever and we could all use that around the holidays, I’m sure.
- Strike up a game of touch football with your family, but be sure that you don’t sit on the sidelines. Get in there and put in good, heart pumping effort for at least 20 minutes. Engage your abs while you’re running, as well. I can pretty much guarantee that your game will last longer than 20 minutes and you won’t even realize it!
The name alone is so daunting, isn’t it? Black Friday… Anyway, if you’re
crazy daring enough to brave this day shopping, then that can be your workout because booking from store to store and running around trying to beat others to rock bottom deals can work your body out for sure. I mean, even 30 minutes of leisurely grocery shopping for a 135 lb woman can burn over 100 calories and black Friday shopping is anything but leisurely.
If you’re shopping on Friday:
- Shopping is the workout, followed by 3 sets of 20 side planks for your core.
If you’re not shopping on Friday: (and I’m not!)
- Go for a brisk walk/run for 30 minutes and follow up with 3 sets of 20 side planks for your core. If you are traveling, it’s even better because you’ll get to walk or run around some place that’s different and take in a whole different scenery. Also, if you have family visiting or if you’re visiting them, bring them along. Exercise is more fun when it’s done together. The more the merrier!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
