Life gets in the way sometimes. True.
Isn’t it ironic that fitness will enhance your life both in the short and long term ~ but it’s that very life that gets in the way of fitness?
People say, I’ll start tomorrow..I’ll make time next week..THIS is the year, etc… but life gets away from you and before you know it, your best laid plan falls flat.
What can you do to prevent this vicious cycle? Here are some suggestions to help you:
- Get some support ~ whether it’s online or live and in person. Connect with people who have similar goals with regard to their health and fitness as you do.
- Make an achievable plan. If you don’t exercise at all and then suddenly your plan is to workout 7 days a week for an hour a pop, that’s probably not sustainable for too long. Try 3 days a week for 30 minutes and work it up to more and more.
- Choose 1 new thing each week to change that will improve your well being. For example, ‘this Thursday I will increase my water intake by one glass for the entire week’.
- If you falter, don’t cry about it, get right back on the horse! Don’t use it as an excuse to stay on a bad road.
