Today is Sunday and we’re going to keep the challenge real simple. The challenge today is:
Running ~ 20 to 30 minutes
I know that if you’re not a runner, you’re probably thinking ~ ugh, I’m not doing that…I’m not a runner.
Here’s my suggestion to you. Don’t think of it as going out for a run, ok? Remember back to your childhood when you use to run for fun. You ran because you:
- had a place to be,
- your friends were running
- you were chasing someone or something
- maybe it was you being chased
- you were playing a game
You didn’t think about the running, you just did it, because you could. Do it now because you can.
Run for a purpose! Chase your kids, run around with your dog, have a friendly (or not so friendly) race or a relay, play a running game (tag, football, soccer, etc..)
Just run simply because you can.
Here are some tips from Shape for running in cold weather.
- Wear warm socks
- Dress in Layers
- Wear a scarf
- Beware of ice
- Ease into it to get used to the cold
Are you an avid runner or a running avoid-er?
