To kick off the Pose of the Week series, I’m picking my current favorite pose – Tree Pose
The tree pose is a balance pose and basically the way you do it is you take your one foot and bring your heel up your other leg to rest on your inner thigh. I like to have my hands in prayer pose – hands together right in front of the chest. Hold the pose for several deep breaths and then do the other side. Closing my eyes makes me dizzy so I wouldn’t recommend it. Its okay if you sway – just feel yourself connected to the ground and keep yourself aligned and tall, yet relaxed.
The reason I like this pose so much is that it feels very peaceful to me. It engages my whole body. It’s still and it makes me feel calm and strong.
