So I’ve been standing in tree pose all week, once per day, and I haven’t really noticed a difference in my stamina or my strength-balance, etc.. The longest I’ve been able to stand in this pose is 2 minutes. Not because I can’t balance any longer or my muscles give out but because I get antsy! Bored.
This led me to my next personal challenge – meditation – being quiet with myself. That is difficult! I didn’t realize, I guess, how much I depend on noise – on thought.
If I can’t stand in silence for more than 2 minutes – how am I going to meditate? Hmm..good question. I suppose I’ll start with a 1 minute meditation and progress it from there. The meditations will be starting in the morning and I will report my progress over time.
