A few weeks ago, the talented Mike Schulenberg chose me for the Game of Eleven Questions. You really have to read his blog ~ his writing is masterful. Just sayin’..
Here’s how it works:
- Post the rules.
- Answer the questions.
- Pass the questions on to eleven people by tagging and linking to them.
- Let them know you’ve tagged them.
1. If you could live in a fictional world, where would that be?
Harry Potter’s world ~ absolutely. I like the thought of magic and wonders and wizardry. Voldemort, I could do without ~ but you have to take the bad with the good, they say. Who is they anyway?
2. Fiction or non-fiction?
I read quite a bit of both. Non-fiction satisfies my natural curiosity and fiction is a wonderful escape..
3. Do you read in noisy or quiet places?
Either. With 3 kids running around and a house full of animals ~ I would never be able to read if I waited for quiet 😉
4. Do reviews influence your choice of reads?
Yes, for sure. They mean more if I know the person doing the review because reading a review on Barnes & Noble or whatever ~ well ~ they could have been compensated for that. Does that make me paranoid? …I feel like somone’s talking about me…
5. Audio books or paperbacks?
Paperbacks. I’ve never listened to an audio book..and you can’t dog-ear it.
6. What was the first book you remember reading?
Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne. It was pink and paperback and I remember reading it over and over and over.
7. Favorite author?
I don’t really have a favorite, per se. If I had to pick one, I would pick Stephen King and Dean Koontz. Oh, that’s two. Well, I’m sticking with them anyway!
8. Classic or Modern Novels?
Both. I’m in the process of catching up on classic novels that I was forced to read in school, but didn’t. Now that I want to read them, I am and appreciating the craft of them so much more.
9. Have you ever met your favorite author?
No, neither one..
10. Book groups or solitary reading?
Solitary reading. I like to travel in my mind to wherever the story takes me ~ can’t imagine doing that in a group.
11. If you could read only one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
That’s a toughy. I’m gonna have to pick The Shining because ~ well ~ it’s awesome and I can picture Jack Nicholson in my head while I’m reading it for eternity.
Thanks, Mike, for selecting me for this in-depth interview. I’m honored!
Here’s the part where I select 11 people, but I’m gonna cheese out a bit. So many of my circle have been chosen for the 11 questions, I don’t really know who to choose. So, if you’re a fan of my blog, just know that I would love to know more about you. If you haven’t been selected for this game, consider yourself selected by yours truly and answer away on your blog!
Since it’s Friday, I’ll end this with a funny you tube clip to start off the weekend. Dance Dares from Ellen! Enjoy!
Tell me ~ Have you ever been interviewed? Have you ever interviewed anyone else?
