The first thing that I would love to tackle is meditation. Not like hours long meditation – no time for that – but just starting out with a 5 minute meditation to center myself. I will most likely extend that time if I find it beneficial.
I see meditation as a journey into my mind, my body, maybe even my soul – which intrigues me. The mind is so mysterious and powerful that we really don’t know all that’s its capable of. I’m curious to see how far into my consciousness that I can go. There is a little fear of what’s going to happen AND some excitement too.
I wonder – can I do it? Can I quiet myself long enough to let whatever happens, happen. We’ll see.
Here is what I’m starting out with:
Start off in a comfortable position sitting on the floor or a pillow – cross legged with the back of your hands resting on your knees. Hands relaxed. Close your eyes and relax. When thoughts creep in – just let them – then let them creep out. Breathe. Concentrate on your breath in and out, in and out.
